Welcome to the Writers' Guild of Texas

Dear members of Writer’s Guild of Texas, It has been an honor and a privilege to serve you as the president of this wonderful organization. I have had many joyful adventures along the way in the past six years. Since the inception of the group I met many aspiring writers who became published authors and started their journeys of marketing and selling their ideas. I was one of those writers. It has been a rewarding experience to encounter speakers and book publishing professionals who with utmost sincerity shared their valuable knowledge with all of us. I am grateful for the opportunity to be an instrument to move this organization forward to provide a loving and educational community for our writers. We are currently looking for board members filling two positions. The terms of Dan Hurwitz, our treasurer and Ann Fields our secretary have also come to an end and those positions are available. If you are interested to serve on the board in any capacity please contact me parid@sbcglobal.net or Virginia Boylan at velkaECS@aol.com . Please join us on December 17th meeting for elections, voting on the revised bylaws, and celebration of our six-year anniversary. I look forward to seeing all your beautiful smiles. I hope you will continue your support for the guild. With the help of caring volunteers serving the board the guild will continue to grow and prosper and bring more programs and workshops to further our publishing goals.
