The Writers' Guild of Texas (WGT) is a nonprofit organization serving the writing community of Texas.
The Writers' Guild of Texas provides peer support, information exchange, and formal and informal self-education opportunities for published and not-yet-published writers.
Our meetings are full of interesting and informative presentations from various experts -- from authors to editors to publishers -- in the publishing industry.

“Workshop: The Writer's Heroic Journey" Saturday, April 20, 2013! From 9am to 1pm
Published Author Jaye Wells will compare the process of writing a novel to the classic three-act structure of a story/hero's journey. Act 1 focuses on “The Setup,” a discussion of different methods of preparing an idea to get ready to write. Act 2 focuses on “Rising Action and Obstacles,” getting that draft written. Act 3 covers “The Resolution,” or revisions, and includes her “Top Ten List of Stupid Writer Tricks” to make a manuscript shine. Read more about Jaye at her website atwww.jayewells.com
